Casper Rudolf is a writer and director based in Copenhagen. His joy for cinema began in his early teenage years when his father introduced him to B-Horror films, which inspired him to make zombie movies in his friends’ backyard. This experience laid the foundation for his deep affection for culture, stories, and people, eventually leading him to earn a BA in Literature from the University of Copenhagen.
With a passion for genre, stylistic experimentation, and minimalist storytelling, Casper Rudolf has made a series of short film, which have been shown at renowned festivals, including the prestigious main competition at the Festival de Cannes, Clermont-Ferrand, and Palm Springs. Casper’s cinematic language is a fusion of horror and arthouse, and his narratives typically explore fundamental human fears and our relationships with groups, nature, and family.
In addition to his work in filmmaking, Casper has also served as an editor in the advertising industry and a still photographer on feature films and TV series. He has actively participated in talent development programs at festivals such as Reykjavik and Cannes.
